It's summer! Vacation Time!
And I've got places to go and things to do.
Notice I am strapped into the seat belt system?
Well, a couple of weeks ago, I wasn't...and the Mr. had
to stop quickly....and I like....didn't!....and mushed
my snooter into the A/C vents.
OUCH!
So....SHE hauled my fanny up to the big box pet store and got this:
And I HATES it!
HATES IT!
I can't get up in the front seat with the Mr.
Leave it to HER to ruin ALL the fun around here.
Ms. SAFETY FIRST...schmurst.
I can barely put my leggies over the edge.
And I want to SEE where I'm going!
It's important to know where you are at all times.
You need to check for landmarks.
If you can't SEE where you are going, they might
be able to drop you off at the
GASP
groomers...or the vettie,
and you'd never know unless you can see.
You need to know these kinds of things so you
can work up a HUGE head of
steam for those places before you get there.
See the big hairy arm?
THAT's where I want to sit.
It's the perfect size for my petite wee self.
And I can lean my chin on the Mr.'s shoulder.
And give him soft woofie kisses.
But nooooooooo!
SHE's got me stuck in the back seat.
And I'm not liking it one bit.

Sorry 'bout being strapped in but it seems prudent fur woo and your snooter!

I feel your pain! Mom and Dad decided we should learn to wear seatbelts a few months ago, too!

Look on the bright side. From the back seat you'll be the one who really does the driving.
Sad you can't see anything. Our back seats fold down, so I can be HIGH. I NEED it to do my Cat Scans. Maybe your's fold down, too.

PeeS. We don't want you lookin' like a hairy pug, do we?
Bonnie, I so totally sympathise with your predicament. To start off with, I was allowed in the footwell of the passenger seat in Gail's Mini, but it turned out that she is amazingly intolerant of having her left arm chewed while she is driving. I mean, aren't some people boring! Anyway, I'm now confined to the few square inches that Mini owners call the boot (or, I guess, the trunk, on your side of the pond).
Oh well, at least we do get taken out, which is something to be grateful for, I suppose.
Toodle pip!
Bertie,
What a bummer for you, Bonnie! We're not letting mom read this or we might get the seatbelt clip too! Mitch loves climbing on that armrest to be lookout boy! Maybe you could chew through that nasty safety torture!
Love ya lots
Maggie and Mitch
Oh Bonnie, we hate our seatbelts! We whine and whine and often our mum leaves them off but now she has read this she says it has reminded her how necessary they are!!!!!
Oh no......
We hope you get used to your pretty little harness - at least you are safe.

You don't look too happy there! Can she let the strap out a bit maybe so you can at least lick the MR's arm?
We have those seatbelt thingeys too, but all of us like them. We fight over who gets the window seat!

Woooos! Poor Bonnie, I know my Mom does the same to us, out of the front seat.....we can see out the windows though, but I suppose that is because we are bigger than woo, Scampi ususally hides and does not like to look out, so that leaves the window fur me!
Are woo going boating, to the beach? Hopefully no place boring like the vet. Mum says we used to go to Egmont key, but then they said dogs were not allowed anymore, even in the water anywhere near the beach, so we stopped going there, of course! Our human brother lives near woo, fur now, but in a couple of weeks he will be moving very far away,on the other side of the world!
I hope woo are staying inside in all of this terrible heat!

Oh poor you but it is safer than bashing your snooter on the car and having to go to the vets.. At least you dont have to go in a basket. I do.. Stay safe.. Hugs GJ xx
Bonnie - you are just such a cutie and we love that snooter. But your Mom is right, you need to be safe. At least you still get to go for a ride in the car-car:)
Woos - Phantom, Thunder, and Ciara
Duncan and Hamish have their harnesses, too, and don't seem to mind them - you'll get used to it and it will keep you safe :o)

Oh Bonnie. We so understand...Our Mama is president of the Safety police n our house too!! We have to wear our seatbelts EVERYTIME we go for a ride.
The up side is, no bruised snooters. Make your Mama buy you a raised puppy seat so you can at least see where you are going!!
Smileys and Snuggles!

Oh dear Bonnie...
I do have the complete solution. I'm selling them for just a small fee and they should do the trick. Lacie's Leg Extensions. Sorta like fur extenders, 'cept they fit on less leggie dogs. I've made 'em myself...trimmed my brother's furs down the the nubbin...stiffened it up with a bottle of Mango's SUDS...and presto, Leggie Extenders...so you can get your paws up and see better. The other option is to sit on a phone book.
Kisses, dear Girlie!

Yes, I hear you! But the humans just want us to be safe! I do have a solution - have mom buy you a booster seat! Don't know if you've seen it on my blog, but it's a good compromise. Strapped in safely in the back seat, and I have a better vantage point than ever!

Oooh! I'm sorry your snooter got mooshed. I'd really like to ride in a car but my lady won't let me.
Car restraints are most important. Too bad they don't come in mastiff size and PeeWee can't abide his if I am in the car with him because he is always trying to wiggle around and get away from me. Hehehe.
Slobbers,
Mango
Would it help if we told you that we always ride strapped in. We get some good naps in. And our sense of smell has developed to heightened levels of excellence. We know EXACTLY when we pull into ... our neighborhood, our gramma's neighborhood, Dairy Queen, our vetties (we love him), and probably a few other places.
It'll get better.
Love
Jake and Fergs
I hear ya! My mom person realized the other day that letting me ride unrestrained wasn't too safe, so I'll be getting one of those things too.
We'll get used to them together.
Looks like a fun time taking a nice ride in the car. We know you would love to be upfront with the humans, but you can relax and enjoy the nice drive. Thanks for sharing the photos. Have a wonderful day.
